Blue Lines is the debut studio album by English electronic music group Massive Attack, released on 8 April 1991 by Wild Bunch and Virgin Records. A remastered version of the album was released on 19 November 2012. We worked on Blue Lines for about eight months, with breaks for Christmas and the World Cup," said Robert "3D" Del Naja, "but we started out with a selection of ideas that were up to seven years old.

Текст песни: Can’t be with the one you love then love the one you’re with Spliff in the ashtray, red stripe I pull the lid Her touch tickles, especially when she’s gentle But I don’t hear her words 'cause I slide the instrumental.

As the Bristol collective's landmark album is reissued 21 years on, Sean O'Hagan, an early champion of the band, recalls its making and its lasting influence.

Listening to Massive Attack's debut album, Blue Lines, 21 years after its initial release is like reading an old William Gibson novel that describes the then-near future, which is now the present, with unsettling precision. Nearly every song offers a sound currently in use in music's taste-making leading edge

Listen free to Massive Attack – Blue Lines (Safe From Harm, One Love and more). Blue Lines was generally considered the first trip-hop album, though the term wasn't coined until several years later. Blue Lines was a success in the United Kingdom, though sales were limited elsewhere.
