Svetlana Veličković was born on June 14, 1973 in Prokuplje (Toplica District, Serbia) to parents Slobodan and Mira Veličković. She grew up in the village of Žitorađa as the older daughter, with her sister Lidija.

Ceca was born Svetlana Velikovi in the village of itoraa, then part of Yugoslavia.
