Michelle Ryan (born 22 April 1984 in London) played Lady Christina de Souza in Planet of the Dead. Born only a few weeks after Colin Baker's debut as the Sixth Doctor, Ryan is best known in the UK for her work as Zoe Slater on the soap opera EastEnders, and for co-starring in Steven Moffat's miniseries, Jekyll. She also played Nimueh in BBC One's fantasy drama Merlin, in 2008.

The Doctor goes to a village in England in the 18th century where the sun and moon have been blacked out. Apparently most of the villagers (men and women) have disappeared as well. Charity, as member of the village is who married to the local blacksmith, and somehow (and it is now explained why) holds an important position in the town, accompanies the Doctor while he tries to figure out what is going on. The ending to this book is really stupid. That's really all I can say about the ending without spoiling.

Night and the Doctor is a series of five made-for-DVD mini-episodes of Doctor Who which were written by Steven Moffat. They were released as bonus features in the Complete Sixth Series DVD and Blu-ray box sets in November 2011.
