Fixers - Here Comes 2001 So Let's All Head For The Sun flac album

Four sparkling new songs from Oxford's answer to Animal Collective. We've been intrigued by Fixers for some time. Part of Oxford's Blessing Force scene, their Van Dyke Parkes-esque single Iron Deer Dream won over our podcast team at the start of this year. The band's new EP, Here Comes 2001 So Let's All Head for the Sun, is full of giddy ideas

Here Comes the Sun is an album by jazz singer-pianist Nina Simone, consisting of cover versions of songs by pop and rock musicians. It features songs recorded in the RCA studios with a full orchestra and backing vocals. Although Simone covers songs by Bob Dylan and The Beatles, among others, most of the versions feature arrangements substantially different from the original recordings

Here Comes the Sun" is a song written by George Harrison that was first released on the Beatles' 1969 album Abbey Road. Along with "Something" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", it is one of Harrison's best-known compositions from the Beatles era. The song was written at the country house of his friend Eric Clapton, where Harrison had chosen to play truant for the day, to avoid attending a meeting at the Beatles' Apple Corps organisation.

First with the good stuff. It is obligatory to mention that Fixers hail from Oxford - OMG LIKE FOALS YEAH?! With that out of the way, it's safe to say that the band sound basically nothing like Foals, though the energy and pep that permeated that band's early work can be found here. The best example of this continues to be the Fixers' breakthrough EP, Here Comes 2001 So Let's All Head For The Sun (full stream here) released in May of last year.
