Ella and Louis Again is a 1957 studio album by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. It is the "sequel" to their 1956 album, Ella and Louis; in contrast to their previous collaboration, this album does not only feature duets. It was reissued in 2006 on a 2 CD-set as Verve 0602517036918

Undecided (Live At The Hollywood Bowl /1956) by Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald. Tatum is, as always, superhuman. We are fortunate to have this album because the original went out of print in 1960. We are also fortunate that Norman Granz put so much energy into putting on this Jazz at the Philharmonic concerts - Norman contributed more to American music (and social justice) than many people realize.

Ella and Louis is a studio album by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, accompanied by the Oscar Peterson Quartet, released in October 1956. Having previously collaborated in the late 1940s for the Decca label, this was the first of three albums that Fitzgerald and Armstrong were to record together for Verve Records, later followed by 1957's Ella and Louis Again and 1959's Porgy and Bess.

Ella And Louis served as the template for Ella And Louis Again (Verve Records, 1957). The high quality of the sequel-the relaxed and easy good-humored rapport, the vocal virtuosity and mastery of the fresh delivery of the familiar tunes all remained unmatched. CD4: Disc 4: Bonus Tracks: Ella and Louis Live: The Memphis Blues (Live from The Chesterfield Show) with Bing Crosby; You Won’t Be Satisfied (Until You Break My Heart) (Live at the Hollywood Bowl); Undecided (Live at the Hollywood Bowl). Decca Extras: You Won’t Be Satisfied (Until You Break My Heart) false start and breakdown; The Frim Fram Sauce false starts/takes 1 and 2; The Frim Fram Sauce alternate take.

Ella and Louis helped rekindle interest in what would become known as The Great American Songbook. Though it is something only American culture could produce, Ella and Louis was also something a large part of American society worked hard to prevent. It started with Norman Granz, producer, promoter, and, by 1955, Ella Fitzgerald’s manager. Any book on my life, Granz told his biographer Tad Hershorn, would start with my basic philosophy of fighting racial prejudice. On August 15, 1956, the JATP performance at the Hollywood Bowl became the best-attended event of the venue’s history even though, eleven years before, they told Granz they would never host an event with the word jazz in the title.

Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald, along with the Oscar Peterson Trio, recorded this gem of an album in 1956 for Verve Records in a Los Angeles studio. Ella And Louis Track Listing: Side One 1. Can’t We Be Friends? 3:47 2. Isn’t This a Lovely Day? 6:16 3. Moonlight in Vermont 3:42 4. They Can’t Take That Away from Me 4:39 5. Under a Blanket of Blue 4:18 6. Tenderly 5:10.
