Slamboree describe themselves as a pyrocircus rave massive, a 10-piece live band with a Smorgasbord of performers, daredevils and entertainers who span the genres of breakbeat, dubstep, drum and bass, dub, techno and electro fused with balkan folk and gypsy flavours. I went along to see them at Boomtown fully expecting a group compensating for lack of musical talent by having lots of people distracting you and not playing a song long enough for you to work out it’s shit.

Slamboree (2000) was the eighth and final Slamboree professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by World Championship Wrestling (WCW). It took place on May 7, 2000 at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. The event featured professional wrestling matches that involve different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines.

Slamboree are a high energy, sex-fueled dub rave circus. Complete with fire dancing, amazing costumes and epic sense of fun. The band are a multi-talented ensemble, led by Kathika Rabbit, the lead vocalist with a voice like honey and a tonne of attitude. They have a list of instruments used that would make Arcade Fire cry, including violins, accordion and saxophone, all this laid over a gut wrenching dub beat. Seeing them live at Shambala festival 2014, they had plenty to compete with in regards to stage presence and spectacle. Combining awesome beats with mind blowing, sexy circus skills. Watching the band is similar to attending an all night carnival or a very risqué burlesque show during prohibition. The performers are effortlessly sexy, skilful and demand attention. From the bearded lady dancers to the jugglers to the clowns, the crowd love them.
