First Love, Last Rites is one of the more interesting motion picture soundtracks to come along in recent times. All of the songs have a strong retro feel, since the music is originating from an oldies radio station throughout the movie.

Music from the Motion Picture is an album by 10,000 Maniacs. The album, their first full-length in 14 years, contains eleven original songs. This album is the first to feature guitarist Jeff Erickson since he took over for Robert Buck following his death in 2000, and the first Maniacs album to feature Mary Ramsey without her longtime music partner, John Lombardo.

Love the music of that film, in particular the rendition of Elvis Costello of the song SHE. It makes me think of my wife and the way I feel about her. "for where she goes I've got to b.the meaning of my life is SHE". My husband and I love the music. We play it often and watch the movie repeatedly. I just found the the CD soundtrack in the bottom of my car today and played it again. Perhaps it's some of the old music, but I found the music lifting and renewing. 3 people found this helpful.
