Silmarils was a French computer game software company founded in 1987 by Louis-Marie and André Rocques. It produced games for PC, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Macintosh, Atari ST and Atari Falcon. The company is most closely associated with its Ishar series. Crystals of Arborea was one of the first games to offer real-time 3D environment and a large world with very few limits on movement.

Silmarils is a French rock band formed in 1989 and from the southern suburbs of Paris. David Salsedo, Brice, Aymeric, Jimi and Jean-Pierre Martins decided to form the group in 1989 to lead the party from their school. Satisfied with their performance, they roam the bars in the suburbs and are joined by Como on bass.

The Silmarils (or Silmarilli), also known as the Jewels of Fëanor, were gems crafted by Fëanor from some essence of the Two Trees of Valinor; Laurelin and Telperion, before the First Age. They were among the most prized of all the wonders crafted by the elves and were coveted by many. It was said that the fate of Arda was woven about the Silmarils. The "War of the Jewels", the climax of which ended the First Age, refers to these three jewels.
