Everything Now is the fifth studio album by Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire, released on July 28, 2017, through Sonovox Records (physical release) and Columbia Records. The album was produced by Arcade Fire alongside Thomas Bangalter of the electronic-house duo Daft Punk and Pulp bassist Steve Mackey. Previous collaborator Markus Dravs provides co-production, with additional production by Geoff Barrow of Portishead and Eric Heigle.

Every inch of sky's got a star Every inch of skin's got a scar I guess that you've got everything now Every inch of space in your head Is filled up with the things that you read I guess you've got everything now And every film that you've ever seen Fills the spaces up in your. dreams That reminds me.

Everything Now" contains elements from "The Coffee Cola Song" written by Francis Bebey. Recorded at Boombox Studios, New Orleans; Sonovox Studios, Montréal; Gang Recording Studio, Paris Mixed at Parlor Studios & Boombox Studios, New Orleans; Toast, London Mastered at Sterling Sound, NYC. shot in Death Valley. If somebody had told me that Arcade Fire were releasing an album of mainly electro pop funky disco with a slight bit of reggae I would have been intrigued but probably would have decided to give it a miss.

The first single from Arcade Fire’s fifth studio album, Everything Now, was released while the band played a secret set at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. A clip had already been released from a record shop in Barcelona, as a vinyl had gone on sale at Primevera Sound Festival before the official release of the song. Although Win Butler’s narrator harshly satirizes modern on-demand culture and consumerism in general, Regine Chassagne’s piano and some passionate backing vocals turn the song into one of Arcade Fire’s sunniest anthems, as the chorus is plea to their fans to Wake Up, take control, and give everything they have to try to make the world and society we live.

Who Arcade Fire became on their new album Everything Now-a tangled, joyless record of Banksy disco and bloodless new wave that examines fear, love, and suicide in our modern media landscape-is anyone’s guess.

On a webpage mocked up to look like US music blog Stereogum, the Canadian sextet attempted to second-guess the critical response to Everything Now: dance-influenced tracks will be compared favorably but slightly dismissively to LCD Soundsystem ; the album itself will eventually be evaluated as one of the best of the year. You can see why Arcade Fire might be concerned about their new album’s reception.

Arguably, Canadian alt-rock darlings Arcade Fire deliver their weakest album to date with ‘Everything No. Regardless, it has still has its moments. For most indie/alternative rock fans and music critics, a new Arcade Fire album is an event. The Canadian-based collective rarely do wrong – at least that’s the perception. For the most part, Arcade Fire puts together solid albums. Still, every artist or band misses or at least downgrades occasionally, right? In the case of the Grammy-winners who rocked The Suburbs, Everything Now gets the distinction of being their weakest effort to date.

Or, maybe, Arcade Fire sensed that Everything Now doesn’t deserve to be hyped. The 13-song collection is the first album of the band’s career that veers away from being a greater statement. Hell, the 13 songs are really just 10, with three reprises included, notably the record’s bookends that find different ways of presenting the title track. When fans actually sit down to hear Everything Now and find just six new offerings outside of the singles, it will be hard not to feel a small sense of disappointment, particularly considering how thin many of the new songs are on the album

Though Arcade Fire have always been comfortable making grand statements, they’ve also been generous with nuance. After joining forces with LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy on 2013’s Reflektor, the Canadian outfit bring in a similarly impressive crew of co-producers-Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter, Pulp’s Steve Mackey-for Everything Now, an album whose jaunty, disco-indebted art-rock is weighted with haunting takes on information overload (the ABBA-esque title track) and nostalgia ( Signs of Life ).

Talk about Arcade Fire - Everything Now

Skunk Black
Its a load of crap - what the hell kind of direction is this after such amazing albums...
Zieryn
2.000 copies world wide my ass! there must be at least 10.000
White gold
Yeah I just picked one up for €4 at the record store and they had about 10-15 more copies.
Naktilar
this just arrived today. played both sides-sounds distorted as fuck...
Kazigrel
Definitely more than 2,000 copies. My local HMV still had about 15 copies today so nowhere near as limited as some people were making out when it was released.
Quynaus
100+ copies for sale, and counting, at a starting price of £6.00 (?!). Cheaper than most other webstores and cheaper than the Arcade Fire website itself at the time. Discogs Marketplace seems to be the place to buy from people.
Umge
Pretty sure they put the price down tbh. Also still widely available despite being advertised as strictly limited. No beef with that per se, except it's very misleading; standard marketing ploy these days now that vinyl is all the rage again.
Nikojas
Mine was £8 direct from Arcade Fire's website, couple of quid postage (as would be the case from anywhere).
Hra
Yeah, I think people got owned on this release! I didn't expect "extremely limited" "Only 1 per customer" to translate into 2000 copies (if not more!!!)
