Erlend Øye is half Norwegian duo Kings Of Convenience. Following their debut album Quiet Is The New Loud were they in 2001 as the ' new Simon & Garfunkel '. On that cd were indeed fragile, vocals acoustic songs had Kings Of Convenience at the so-called ' New Acoustic Movement '. It soon became apparent that this was not quite right, because on the remix album Versus (2001) they worked with dance and electro acts such as Ladytron, Four Tet and Röyksopp. The solo trip by Erlend Øye is an extension of Versus. The result is a handsome and adventurous mix of traditional pop songs composed with modern dance and electro.
