Mythos was a German band formed in Berlin by vocalist and t Stephan Kaske, bassist Harold Weiße and drummer Thomas Hildebrand in 1969. All doing their A level at the same school, the self-taught musicians released their eponymous debut in 1971. Influenced by Pink Floyd, Ash Ra Tempel and Hawkwind the album draws on science fiction and ecological themes particularly noticeable on the closing track "Encyclopedia Terrae"

Mythos (Mythos album). The first Mythos LP was released in 1972, on the legendary 'Krautrock' label Ohr. On 'Mythos' the band realized a mixture of art rock and psychedelic with oriental influences in lengthy pieces. Stephan Kaske played the melody from Händel's 'Fireworks Music' on the flute in a rockmeets-classic version. Oriental Journey-Hero's Death' creates a psychedelic mood with sitar and mellotron sounds.

Mythos 'N DJ Cosmo ‎– Mythos. Label: Unsubmissive Records ‎– 0106812UNS. The producers are obviously talented but have taken this album in too much of a commercial direction. I like the vibe created by the kick drums and basslines they use and indeed some of the other sounds and If you took some of the cheesey elements away I think I would like it alot more. Saying that yes I suppose it would be ok if you were playing somewhere where not everyone was into proper trance and you wanted soemthing nice and friendly, happy but a little bit banging too
