Chapterhouse - Freefall EP flac album

Freefall is the debut EP by Chapterhouse released in 1990. Its first track, "Falling Down", was used as part of their debut album, Whirlpool. The other tracks were released on the 2006 reissue of Whirlpool along with Sunburst and Pearl.

Album · 1990 · 4 Songs. Although the band didn't want its music pigeonholed as shoegaze, Chapterhouse’s debut 1990 EP, Freefall, epitomized the journalist-coined word that became a genre. Even the cover art has a photo of guitarist Andrew Sherriff staring down to ensure he's stepping on the proper pedal in his daisy chain of effects.

Whirlpool (Chapterhouse album). Whirlpool is the debut album by British shoegazing band Chapterhouse. The album was reissued on 6 June 2006, on the label Cherry Red, with seven bonus tracks taken from three EPs (Freefall, Sunburst, and Pearl) released in the same time frame as the album. The Cherry Red reissue also included, for the first time, lyrics to all of the songs. The album spent 3 weeks in the UK Album chart in 1991, peaking at number 23.

Thus the fantastic opener "Falling Down," in a slightly different version from the one that turned up on Whirlpool, with heavy wah-wah smack and swirling, sweet vocals underscored by a punchy (but not quite as electronic and crisp) funk rhythm.
