The West Point Cadet Chapel will provide its annual Community Christmas Eve Service, a wonderful hour of worship and music by candlelight! The government is shut down, the cadets are home for the holidays, but the West Point Protestant community (represented by the Cadet Chapel and Post Chapel) will continue an annual tradition that has been given for close to a century!

The Cadet Chapel is a famous landmark and symbol of religious activities of the Military Academy and was designed by the renowned firm of Cram, Goodhue, and Ferguson. The Cadet Chapel organ (. Moeller,) begun in 1911 and enlarged by memorial gifts is now the largest church organ in the world. The Organist and Director of Music is Mr. Craig Williams. Craig Williams and other artists perform concerts throughout the year.

The Cadet Chapel at the United States Military Academy is a place of Protestant denomination worship for many members of the United States Corps of Cadets. The chapel is a classic example of gothic revival architecture, with its cross-shaped floor plan, soaring arches, and ornate stone carvings. It hosts the largest chapel pipe organ in the world, which consists of 23,511 individual pipes.

Specifications were prepared by the West Point Quartermaster, Major John M. Carson. The success of the original organ was due largely to the sympathetic supervision of G. Seibert Losh and to the artistic tonal-regulation in the Chapel by Charles Williams, both members of the M. P. Moller Company of Hagerstown, Maryland. Today, the Chapel organ has two hundred and thirteen ranks of pipes with a total of 14,195 individual speaking pipes.
