In this line-up ALU released only one 7" single "Bitte warten Sie!, Liebe machen" on their own label Der Letzte Schrei ! in 1981 - this two songs where originally part of "Autismenschen" album which was written and produced in 1980 (but never released until 2005). Music of early ALU was a metallic amalgamation of monotonous, hypnotic sounds and laconic singing, but by 1981, they flowed to harsh, motorised beat with guttural sound at war with everything around.

In 2005, Aaron Dilloway left Wolf Eyes, disinterested in extensive touring, Mike Connelly replaced Dilloway, appearing first on their 2006 album Human Animal. Dilloway did some work on Human Animal. He has performed them on at least two occasions. It was announced in February 2013 that Mike Connelly has left the group to concentrate on his solo work and he was replaced in the lineup by another Michigan musician Jim Baljo.
