The Silent Circus is the second studio album by American progressive metal band Between the Buried and Me. Released October 21, 2003 through Victory Records. It was their first album to be released through Victory Records after their departure from Lifeforce Records. It was re-released in 2006 with a bonus DVD included. The album includes 10 tracks with a hidden song titled "The Man Land" hidden at the end of "The Need for Repetition".

It was released on September 6, 2005 through Victory Records and is the first album to feature the band's current lineup, with the addition of Dustie Waring on guitar, Dan Briggs on bass, and Blake Richardson on drums

When I first got into Between the Buried and Me, it was like love at first hearing. Their incorporation of several different genres and bountiful supply of talent/musical prowess blew me away and the band have remained a favourite of mine for several years. This album, their follow up to a somewhat impressive yet flawed self-titled, is most definitely an interesting listen. It begins with a trio of songs that show the band's more metallic edge - Lost Perfection is a trip into obscure tempos, blastbeats and technical guitar riffs  . Although Alaska and Colors were a lot more progressive (and improved in the realms of production and talent), The Silent Circus is most definitely a great album and one that most fans of heavy music will enjoy. In August 2003, Between the Buried and Me traveled to Q Division Studios in Somerville, Massachusetts to record their second record, The Silent Circus, released in October the same year. It was later re-released in 2006 with a live DVD of the band's performance at The Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on July 17, 2005. Mark Castillo played drums on The Silent Circus, replacing Goodyear. After the release of The Silent Circus, the band went through numerous members before the current lineup was assembled for their third album, Alaska
