Derrick Morgan (born 27 March 1940) is a Jamaican musical artist popular in the 1960s and 1970s. He worked with Desmond Dekker, Bob Marley, and Jimmy Cliff in the rhythm and blues and ska genres, and he also performed rocksteady and skinhead reggae. In 1957 Morgan entered the Vere Johns Opportunity Hour, a talent show held at the Palace Theatre in Kingston. He won with rousing impressions of Little Richard and, shortly after that, was recruited to perform around the island with the popular Jamaican comedy team Bim and Bam. one of the few Crab releases with red script. when I bought a copy I thought it was a bootleg or a re-release but the matrix was correct so it was genuine.

It seems Derrick Morgan did a whole bunch of records with Hop in the title! I bought one of these for quite a lot thinking it was his early ska track The Hop but it is a completely different track in a more skinhead style and much more like Moon Hop which it probably was following on to cash in on the success of!
