Coltrane Jazz is the sixth studio album by jazz musician John Coltrane, released in 1961 on Atlantic Records, catalogue SD 1354. The song "Village Blues" is noted as a landmark recording, as it marks the first session date of the early John Coltrane Quartet on record. Featured alongside Coltrane are pianist McCoy Tyner, drummer Elvin Jones, and bassist Steve Davis (who would within 18 months have been replaced by first Reggie Workman and then Jimmy Garrison who would stay with Coltrane until his death.

Jazz Way Out is an album by jazz musicians John Coltrane and Wilbur Harden, the second of the three 1958 Savoy recordings made by Coltrane and Harden together. The session also produced an alternate take of "Dial Africa", which can be found on some compilations, most notably the ones featuring the complete Savoy recordings made by Harden and Coltrane together, The Complete Mainstream 1958 Sessions (2009) and The Complete Savoy Sessions (1999). Dial Africa" (Wilbur Harden) - 8:42.

Tanganyika Strut (1958). Jazz Way Out is an album by jazz musicians John Coltrane and Wilbur Harden, the second of the three Savoy 1958 recordings made by Coltrane and Harden together.

John Coltrane's son Ravi Coltrane on the long-lost recording of his father's that is now seeing the light of day for the first time. The release of a new album from jazz legend John Coltrane, recorded in that same hallowed room in 1963. Never mind that 55 years have passed, the material is brand-new - not a reissue, not a live release, not a collection of B-sides and rarities - and includes two never-before-heard compositions. Titled In Both Directions At Once: The Lost Album, the 14-track, two-disc album (out June 29 on Impulse!) consists of remastered session tapes long assumed to be lost. They were discovered in the possession of Coltrane’s family, specifically descendants of him and his first wife Naima

The day before John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones and Jimmy Garrison convened at the Van Gelder studios in Englewood Cliffs, John, Paul, George and Ringo recorded "From Me To You" at Abbey Road in seven takes. That night the Coltrane quartet tore apart Birdland and the next day recorded an album with Johnny Hartman. Music was changing everywhere and, thus, the world. Bob Thiele's voice is the first we hear, cutting through the political panic of fifty five years.
