In the past, Noiseshaper have worked with a variety of singers and DJs, but for Rough Out There they decided to stick primarily with a very fine singjay named Juggla, who brings conscious lyrics, an impressive flow, and a passable singing voice to Noiseshaper 's modern roots grooves. While the group does a fine job with such straight-ahead reggae material as "Walls of Silence" and the conscious dancehall wiggle of "This Is Not a Gunthing," they really stand out on more experimental fare, such as the dark and soulful "Walking" (featuring singer Jackie Deane).

Noiseshaper is a dub reggae duo based in Berlin, Germany, consisting of Florian Fleischmann and Axel Hirn. The duo is known for their frequent mixes and remixes of their own songs, as well as those of other artists. Their music includes elements of dub music, conventional reggae, electronic music, and numerous other genres. The duo was formed in Austria in 2000, and relocated to Berlin soon after releasing their debut album, Prelaunch Sequence, in 2001.

Similar to their 2003 album The Signal Noiseshaper have been working again with a host of top class vocalists from around the globe. As well as old favourites like Juggla, Jackie Deane or the the Blues legend Wayne Martin you can also hear new talents. Sherrez, a british rapper living in Barcelona lends the title track it’s distinct flavour with her UK rap style. Big Shot, the first single to be taken from the album is performed by Sketch Walton, a soulsinger from Washington . and promises to be the first Reggae hit for summer 2009.
