About this album: In 2007, Gordon heard about Cal Robbins' diagnosis of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Cal is the son of J. Robbins, founder of the legendary DC band Jawbox (he now plays in Channels with his wife and Cal's mom, Janet). Their limited income from J's production work was not enough to cover the mounting medical bills, and since late 2006 the independent music community has come together to hold numerous benefit shows, auctions, fundraisers, and put together benefit compilations and albums
