Honeymoon in Red is a concept album released in 1987 by Lydia Lunch and Rowland S. Howard. Honeymoon in Red is sometimes referred to as a band or alternately as a collaboration between Lydia Lunch and The Birthday Party

Unfortunately, while historically interesting, Honeymoon in Red is only somewhat satisfying musically. Done Dun" and "Dead in the Head" are the only tracks with Nick Cave on vocals, and they're the only tracks that actually fulfill the potential of the BP/Lunch collaboration. The rest have great instrumentation, but are dragged down by Howard's nasal moping. Not long after, they ditched Howard and formed the Bad Seeds with Blixa Bargeld.

These were coined by Lydia Lunch for Mick, who performed on this album as drummer, pianist and saxophonist, and for Nick, who was co-vocalist on "Done Dun" and "Dead In The Head".

The result isn't that much different from the standard Lunch album, but it has a stronger collection of songs than her average album, and the Birthday Party captures the sound of urban life imploding, which is the sound Lunch is always striving to achieve.
