Feuermann died in 1942, but the trio re-formed in 1949 with Gregor Piatigorsky as cellist. The new Million Dollar Trio recorded trios by Mendelssohn, Ravel and Tchaikovsky, but broke up due to a quarrel between alpha-males Heifetz and Rubinstein.
