Foghat is an English rock band formed in London in 1971. The band is known for the use of electric slide guitar in their music. The band has achieved eight gold records, one platinum and one double platinum record, and despite several line-up changes, continue to record and perform. The band initially featured Dave Peverett ("Lonesome Dave") on guitar and vocals, Tony Stevens on bass and Roger Earl on drums, after all three musicians left Savoy Brown in 1971.

Foghat is the second album, as well as the second self-titled album by the English rock band Foghat. Foghat s live performances show why the band is still around today and why they will be able to keep on rockin for as long as they want. This band truly is timeless. Constant touring is part of their DNA and the band just loves to play. The entire 1977 Foghat Live! album will be part of the band's 2017 live set. Last year, the band released their 19th album Under The Influence on both vinyl and CD to great acclaim.

Live is a 1977 live album by Foghat. The release is Foghat's bestselling album with over two million copies sold, and certified double platinum in the United States. In 2007, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the album, Foghat released the Live II double album.

Foghat’s fourth album released in 1974 contained a few songs that would become concert staples over the years. The time change in the middle of the piece echoed the Slow Ride, type groove that had yet to appear on record. Foghat Live showcased the band musical talents better than any of their studio albums. The live setting always frees blues musicians of studio restraints due to recording time budgets and deadlines. On stage a band like Foghat can just let loose and explore the possibilities of the their inner soulfulness, talent and inspirations.
