Elton John is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Elton John, released on 10 April 1970 by DJM Records. It was released by Uni Records as John's debut album in the United States; many people there assumed it was his first album, as Empty Sky was not released in that country until 1975. Elton John includes his breakthrough single "Your Song", and helped to establish his career during what was considered the "singer-songwriter" era of popular music

Elton’s second album features one of his biggest hits, Your Song, and was nominated for one of the music industry’s highest honours: a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. The album also was a commercial success, reaching on the Billboard Top 200 chart, and was certified gold by the RIAA within a year of its release. It peaked at on the UK Album Chart, spending 22 weeks on that list Music & Llyrics by ELTON JOHN & BERNIE TAUPIN Produced by GUS DUDGEON Orchestral Arrangements by PAUL BUCKMASTER Recorded at Trident Studios, London, UK.

Explore the music of Elton John. In 2008, Elton's classic 1970 self-titled album received the deluxe reissue treatment. Each track was digitally remastered to enhance its sound quality and several bonus tracks were added in, including Bad Side Of The Moon, the original and demo versions of Grey Seal, and three previously unreleased John/Taupin songs: Thank You Mama, All The Way Down To El Paso and I'm Going Home.

There is another Elton John album of the same title released in the UK in 1982. Love Songs is a compilation album by British singer-songwriter Elton John. The album was first released on 6 November 1995 by John's own label The Rocket Record Company, in conjunction with Mercury Records. The album was released in North America by MCA Records almost a year after the European release, on 24 September 1996. In the US, it was certified gold in December 1996, platinum in March 1997, 2 platinum in December 1998 and 3 platinum in August 2000 by the RIAA

Sir Elton Hercules John has released more than 30 studio albums over the course of his career. By conservative estimation, at least 10 of those are stone-cold classics, 10 more are solid ground-rule doubles with hit singles and a few quality deep cuts. cocaine is a hell of a drug. Yet even on the worst of those, one can find gems,as you'll see on our list of the Best Song From Every Elton John Album below. You can neatly divide John’s output into a few distinct periods. Some fans chart his decline at his first album without Bernie Taupin, 1978's A Single Man; others might date it back to 1975’s Rock of the Westies. However you measure, the late '70s and '80s are a dry spell for quality John albums. With 1991’s The One, he entered into an elder-statesman phase of his recording career, even if his live shows proved him to be far from elder or statesman-like with their energy and intensity.
