Pickin' Up the Pieces is the debut album by country rock band Poco, released in 1969. It was one of the earliest examples of the emerging genre of country rock. Several of the songs here date back to Richie Furay's days in Buffalo Springfield. An early version of "What a Day" was included on the Springfield's eponymous box set in 2001. Bassist Randy Meisner appears on the album but quit the band shortly before the record was released

Keep on Rockin' is the only studio album by Slade II. The album was released in 1994 and has seen various re-issues and guises under alternative names such as Wild Nites (1999), Cum on Let's Party! (2002) and Superyob (2003). In March 1992, Slade disbanded with the departure of lead vocalist Noddy Holder and bassist Jim Lea. That year, guitarist Dave Hill decided to form his own version of the group as Slade II, which included original drummer Don Powell.

The CMH Records Pickin' On series took the novel idea of studio musicians fusing together compositions from rock legends like Hendrix, Clapton, Neil Young, the Rolling Stones, and in this case the Beatles, and applying straight bluegrass arrangements to them. The novelty however wears off quickly on versions of "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Hey Jude," "Yellow Submarine," and "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" that incorporate five-string banjo, mandolin, Dobro, and fiddle.
