Fear" is a medium slow piece with some monsterous drum crashes at the beginning. The lyrics are interesting poignant & poetic instead of merely rhyming nonsense. Some of the backing on "No 4" is savage in its noise content - very experimental - if all Dub was like this it would be appreciated by a wider audience.

The Sinners from Mitar
Their first album on FUNFUNDVIERZIG dating back to 1987. The first side opens with "Far Away" which opens like something by an Industrial band before switching into a very catchy piece of slow, danceable Reggae. "Different Language" is a medium paced mover. "Fear" is a medium slow piece with some monsterous drum crashes at the beginning. The lyrics are interesting poignant & poetic instead of merely rhyming nonsense. Some of the backing on "No 4" is savage in its noise content - very experimental - if all Dub was like this it would be appreciated by a wider audience. Hell, there's even Metal Bashin' it there!!! "Natty Vision" is another meandering and experimental Dub track. Much of it is cliched, but there are some huge noises in there."Whirl" is another slowly moving piece of music which still manages to pack a punch. "Dub Whirl" is a loose and shaggy version of the above track. "Reality" again has some rather thought provoking lyrics, as well as some hard sounds while "Natural Mystic" is a slow track with some nice sounds in the background. The vocalist weaves her spell once more with interesting lyrics. "Cool Out!" follows in on the tail of the last track, keeping much of the same atmosphere, but laying an utterly dissonant piano sound over the top. A good way to close the album. Not a classic, but not a bad debut either with some mystifying moments.Originally reviewed for Soft Watch.
