Nothingface is an independent release by Washington, . based alternative metal band Nothingface. It is the first album with lead singer Matt Holt.

Pacifier (Nothingface album). Many of the tracks on Pacifier were re-recorded from the band's 1995 independent release Nothingface. The tracks "Defaced", "Self Punishment", "Hitch", "Useless", "Perfect Person", and "Communion" were all re-recorded from Nothingface with slight lyrical changes. To help promote the album, music videos were made for the tracks "Pacifier" and "Defaced".

For most of the band's career, the lineup consisted of Matt Holt (vocals), Tom Maxwell (guitar), Bill Gaal (bass) and Chris Houck (drums). The band released five albums - "Nothingface" (1995), "Pacifier" (1997), "An Audio Guide to Everyday Atrocity" (1998), "Violence" (2000) and "Skeletons" (2004) - before disbanding in 2004. The band reformed in 2005, but disbanded once more in 2009.

Nothingface's debut album, Pacifier, is a solid debut by one of metal's most promising rookies. Stepping forth with the common formula popularized by Korn with low-tuned bass and rabid, animalistic screams, these four men have compiled an album that is ripe with inner turmoil and problematic self-esteem issues. Lyrically, Pacifier is quite personal, and even touches on child molestation, which is a frightening concept that is unnervingly enough becoming the trademark of this "new breed" of heavy metal.
