Phillip Boa (born 18 January 1963 in Dortmund, Germany) is a German independent music songwriter, musician, singer, guitarist, composer and producer. His current name is unknown after two divorces and name changes. Phillip Boa lives in Dortmund, Hamburg and on the island of Malta. As a songwriter Boa has written over 400 songs, and 21 of his studio albums made it to the top 60 of the charts.

Phillip Boa and the Voodooclub was formed by Phillip Boa in 1985. The group's original line-up consisted of Pia Lund, Voodoo and Der Rabe. The band toured indie clubs across europe and got signed by a major-label, Polydor in Hamburg. This move triggered a backlash for Phillip as he was at first called a traitor for doing this (Phillip was a symbolic figure of the 'never sell out' indie ideology).
