Balin is Marty Balin's 1981 debut solo album. Two top-40 singles were released, "Hearts" (a . hit, and also his biggest as a solo artist) and "Atlanta Lady (Something About Your Love)" (. The album rose to on the Billboard charts. Hearts" (Jesse Barish) – 4:32. You Left Your Mark on Me" (Terry Turrell/Eric J. Burgeson) – 4:40. Lydia!" (Rick Nowels/Marty Balin) – 3:36. Atlanta Lady" (Barish) – 3:46. Spotlight" (Turrell/Burgeson) – 3:30.

Lucky is the second solo album by Marty Balin. It was released in 1983 on EMI America Records. The album did not fare as well as his previous one, and only rose to on the Billboard chart. As a subtle tribute to Balin's friend and former band mate Jack Casady, he recorded a cover of "Heart of Stone," an original written by Brian Marnell from Jack's new wave group SVT. "Born to Be a Winner" (Julio de Caro/Steve Head) – 4:22. What Do People Like?" (de Caro) – 3:49.

4. Atlanta Lady Lyrics. Show all albums by Marty Balin.

Balin was born Martyn Jerel Buchwald in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Catherine Eugenia "Jean" (née Talbot) and Joseph Buchwald. His paternal grandparents immigrated from Eastern Europe. His father was Jewish and his mother was Episcopalian.

He largely abandoned songwriting - he collaborated on one song on the record - in the pursuit of being an AOR superstar. The 1981 eponymous album was indeed a hit thanks to the gorgeous soft rock staple "Hearts," written by longtime friend Jesse Barish, as was a good chunk of the rest of the album. Some of Balin follows the direction of "Hearts".
