The Flaming Lips are an American rock band, formed in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1983. Instrumentally, their sound contains lush, multi-layered, psychedelic rock arrangements, but lyrically their compositions show elements of space rock, including unusual song and album titles-such as "What Is th. ore . Year: 2018. 7. Killer on the Radio . 2:58. 8. Batman Theme . 1:47. 9. Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere . 2:32. 10. Handsome Johnny . 2:56. 11. Flaming Lips Theme Song . 3:53. 12. The Future Is Gone . 3:22. 13. Underground Pharmacist . 4:48.

The Flaming Lips Theme Song 1983' 'The Future Is Gone'. The first two tracks find The Lips in a hard-charging punk mood that shows relatively little of the band that would craft songs around epic robot battles and the sun's explosion. It captures the group in a transition from its primitive shambolic drug-damaged punk-pop to the primitive shambolic drug-damaged hallucinogenic cosmic brother death rock heard on the 1st EP," according to the press release. The 2nd Cassette Demo is currently on sale as an ultra-limited signed blue 7". Check out The Future Heart for details of how to get your hands on a copy.

Talk about The Flaming Lips - 2nd Cassette Demo

The Flaming Lips used to be punks!!! A sonically maladjusted, enjoyable EP that's very reminiscent of what the Butthole Surfers did around this time, with a surf rock and Doors influence in the guitars and vocals. Definitely not a good introduction to the band that turned "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" and "Do You Realize?" into arena-packing cult hits, but very fun and IT COMES WITH WAYNE COYNE'S AUTOGRAPH. As music, it's a C+, as a historical artyfact, it's a B+.

It was available to independent record stores for Xmas eve. If you did not manage to pick one up you are pretty much out of luck unless you want to get it here or ebay.
