This is a list of notable Cajuns, often from the Acadiana or Greater New Orleans regions of French Louisiana, though not limited in geographic origin. Vin Bruce Born Ervin "Vin" Bruce (April 25, 1932 - June 8, 2018) Singer and Songwriter. Born in Cut Off, Louisiana

The Cajuns (/ˈkeɪdʒən/; Louisiana French: les Cadiens), also known as Acadians (Louisiana French: les Acadiens), are an ethnic group mainly living in the . state of Louisiana, and in the Canadian maritimes provinces as well as Québec consisting in part of the descendants of the original Acadian rs from Acadia (L'Acadie) in what are now the Maritimes of Eastern Canada.

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are the athletic teams of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The college has been competing athletically since 1901. The Ragin' Cajuns compete in NCAA Division I, fielding 16 varsity teams. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette was once known as the University of Southwestern Louisiana; this was just prior to the adoption of the nickname "Ragin' Cajuns"

This is how Cajuns became Cajun. The Acadians brought their French aspects with them to Louisiana and turned it into what we know now as Cajun Country. Everything about life on the bayou stems from Acadian and French cultures: Mardi Gras, masks, celebrations, and more. My acestors wound up in Houma, Louisiana. Houma is a small town southwest of New Orleans where my family can be traced back to 1762. Although it’s not New Orleans, its French culture and Cajun aspects are just the same  . Did your grandparents live relatively cajun lifestyles? Or were they more Americanized? What do you know about his involvement in WWII?
