Alex Fergusson (born 16 December 1952, Glasgow) is a Scottish guitarist, record producer. Fergusson played in the Nobodies, with Sandy Robertson (later a rock journalist of note), before forming the punk band Alternative TV with Mark Perry in 1977, and a few years later (in 1981) joined Psychic TV. He left the latter in 1987. In 1993 he released an eponymous white label vinyl LP, followed by Perverse Ballads in 1996, The Essence in 2001, and The Castle in 2006.

So I got White Label. It is, by far, the strangest album I have ever heard.

Force the Hand of Chance, the group's first album, was released in 1982, with Themes and Dreams Less Sweet (featuring input from Geoff Rushton, aka John Balance) arriving soon afterwards. During the '80s, Psychic TV's prodigious output totaled over 20 albums. Much of this stemmed from a publicity stunt beginning in 1986 for which the group attempted to release one live album, each from a different nation, on the 23rd of each month for 23 months

A Comment: The more-or-less CD re-release 'Perverse Balads' spells the second track 'Sophie' instead of 'Sophe' - which looks reasonable. Nevertheless (as can be seen on the image of the back of the insert-postcard), this spells out 'Sophe'.
