We'll Meet Again: The Very Best of Vera Lynn is a compilation album by English singer Vera Lynn. The album is a selection of her recordings made for Decca Records, for whom Lynn recorded between 1936 and 1959. It reached number one on the UK Albums Chart on 13 September 2009, making her at age 92 the oldest living artist to achieve this feat with an album. The album entered the chart at number 20 on 30 August, and then climbed to number 2 the following week, before reaching the top position.

We'll Meet Again" is a 1939 British song made famous by singer Vera Lynn with music and lyrics composed and written by English songwriters Ross Parker and Hughie Charles. The song is one of the most famous of the Second World War era, and resonated with soldiers going off to fight as well as their families and sweethearts. The song gave its name to the 1943 musical film We'll Meet Again in which Dame Vera Lynn played the lead role (see 1943 in music).

And to the degree that it fosters some new interest in and attention for Dame Vera Lynn (age 92 in 2009) and her music, that's great. But that's about the only thing great about this collection. It does offers a decent cross-section of her music across two decades of her career, which lasted 41 years. Perhaps they'll make an appearance on a subsequent volume, the release of which seems likely, in view of the sales success of this one. In the meantime, though one wishes it were better executed, it's best to encourage Decca by purchasing this disc.
