Phil Seymour (May 15, 1952 - August 17, 1993) was an American drummer, singer, guitarist and songwriter, best known for the singles "I'm On Fire" (with The Dwight Twilley Band), his own solo hit "Precious to Me" and for being the second voice on Tom Petty's hits "American Girl" and "Breakdown. His solo work is revered among fans of power pop. In 1967, Seymour met fellow Tulsa musician Dwight Twilley at a theater where they had both gone to see a screening of A Hard Day's Night.

Phil Seymour may have been one of the true heroes of power pop in the 1970s and '80s, but he sure didn't have much in the way of good luck.

Two years after Phil Seymour's solo debut on Boardwalk, the singer/songwriter returns, penning only a couple of tunes here. He's still in stripes, this time white and black instead of black and purple, à la the first solo disc, and this time there's a double image of the artist on the cover (get it? Phil Seymour: 2). But it isn't a Dwight Twilley Band album and it is a bit anti-climactic after the greatness of the first adventure apart from the Dwight Twilley Band

Talk about Phil Seymour - Phil Seymour 2

The Apotheoses of Lacspor
The Fuel Records release is NOT a reissue of the version of the 1982 record that was commercially released! It DOES feature all previously unreleased recordings of the songs that appeared on "2" because the first nine tracks of the original Richard Polodor/Bill Cooper version were remixed by Val Garay prior to release. Garay's work was hit or miss, and his original mix held back an otherwise decent album. It should also be noted that his cover of Dwight Twilley's "Looking For The Magic" was actually recorded during the sessions for his first album, and is not present on this release (but will be included on a future Archive release). The reason why Looking For The Magic was included on The Phil Seymour Archive Series Vol 1 in 2012
