Once Upon a Time is the seventh studio album by Scottish pop rock band Simple Minds, released in October 1985 by record label Virgin (A&M in the US). The album paired the group with music producer Jimmy Iovine. He had worked with artists featuring an aggressive guitar-based sound, including singer-songwriters Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Nicks, and he brought that approach to the band. Iovine particularly pushed frontman Jim Kerr, aiming for more energetic vocals.
All The Things She Said. Don't You (Forget About Me). Simple Minds.
The first Simple Minds album, Life in a Day, was produced by John Leckie and released by Arista in April 1979. The album's title track "Life in a Day" was released as Simple Minds' first single and reached No. 62 in the UK Gallup charts, with the album reaching No. 30 in the LP charts. The next single ("Chelsea Girl") failed to chart. While preparing ideas for the next record, they played a support slot for Magazine, following which they went back to the studio with Leckie to work on new material. Real to Real Cacophony. Once Upon a Time went on to generate four worldwide hit singles: "Alive and Kicking", "Sanctify Yourself", "Ghost Dancing" and "All the Things She Said", the last of which featured a music video directed by Zbigniew Rybczyński that used techniques developed in music videos for bands such as Pet Shop Boys and Art of Noise.

Album Once Upon A Time. All The Things She Said Lyrics. Anywhere you go, you know I'll still be waiting All the things she said, she said Little darling close your eyes, there'll be no compromising Of all the things she said, she said. Throw me to the street where the heartbeats beating (It's beating) To the peaceful revolution And the perfect wave, surround me Tell me 'bout the ocean moving in slow motion I see it glitter in the sun Then it's freezing in the moonlight Never look back, never look back, never look away. Oh, to be near you in the first morning light I'd be with you, I dream about you If I could leave here, I would leave here tonight I'd be with you, I'd stay with you tonight Tonight.
Glittering Prize 1981-1992. Don't You (Forget About Me) Lyrics. Don't You (Forget About Me) is found on the album Glittering Prize 1981-1992. Tell me your troubles and doubts Giving me everything inside and out and Love's strange so real in the dark Think of the tender things that we were working on. Slow change may pull us apart When the light gets into your heart, baby. Don't you, forget about me Don't, don't, don't, don't Don't you, forget about me. Will you stand above me? Look my way, never love me Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling Down, down, down. Given the choice between this song or something like All the Things She Said or Speed Your Love to Me or even something way less obvious like In Every Heaven, I'd pick anything but Don't You Forget About Me. Promised you a miracle Belief is a beauty thing Promises promises As golden days break wondering Chance as love takes a train Summer breeze and brilliant light Only love she sees He controls on love Love sails to a new life. This was their biggest hit of the time (that is before 'Don't You Forget About Me' which featured in THAT Hughe's film practically 'waxed-over' all they'd done before, apparently to the dismay of the band). Personal favourites of theirs: 'Love Song' (from 'Sons and Fascination', 1981); 'Glittering Prize' (from the above album of 1982) and, 'Speed Your Love to Me' (from 'Sparkle In the Rain', 1984).
