This LP contains two tracks that are not included in the 1999 CD Reissue on Rounder Various - Anglo-American Ballads, Volume One. This LP should not be confused with Various - Anglo-American Ballads which both are released under the same name "Anglo-American Ballads" by The Library Of Congress Recording Laboratory, but has Catalog Number AFS-L7. Tracks A1, A7, A8, A9 rec. 1941 Salem, VA.

The music on the second volume in the Anglo-American Ballads series were collected from 1937-42 in Kentucky, Virginia and North Carolina. Hobart Smith is probably the most recognizable performer (of "Claude Allen") on the collection, though . Greer has a deep and earnest tone worth hearing.
