During the height of 80's Ska revival, The Swinging Cats were signed, for a short period, to the 2 Tone label. The line-up changed constantly over the short period the band was in existence (pratically on a weekly basis). For a while there was also a girl on backing vocals, Val, who was going out with Jerry Dammers of The Specials at one point.

The swinging 60s ushered in a more mischievous, spirited cinema. It saw a surge in formal experimentation, freedom of expression, colour, and comedy. The disjunction of sound and image is a feature of the swinging 60s film. Diana’s untrustworthy narration of the story of her life – executed with exceptional subtlety by Christie, who deservedly won an Academy Award for her performance – counterpoints the reproduction of her face in photographs for magazines.

In 2012 they released their first album Bathtub Gin, alongside with the music videos Bright Lights Late Nights, and the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) award winning Black Swamp Village. In 2015 they are back with Land of Plenty, an album consisting of 10 songs in Swing, Jazz, Blues and Dixieland. In 2017 they participated in Athens & Epidaurus Festival with the theatrical performance Homesickness Blues. Released in 2012, Bathtub Gin is an EP consisting of four songs.
