Aphonic Threnody - When Death Comes flac album

Of Loss and Grief revels in creating huge depressive soundscapes full of feelings of loss, woe, and tragedy. That being said though, a real highlight and focal point of the album comes in the longest track, Lies. Giving the listener a bit of everything the band has to offer, the near 20-minute track breezes by and creates some truly haunting moments. But Aphonic Threnody find a kind of mystical relief from these oppressive clouds of gloom, shining glimmering lights into these graves of vanquished dreams.

The album finishes with ‘our way to the ground’, a song that opens with sombre piano before the guitars once more haul themselves from the earth for one final trawl through humanity’s darkest moments. It is a fittingly grandiloquent conclusion to the album and one that leaves the listener enervated and drained after so obsidian a journey. Aphonic Threnody are not an easy listen. This is doom metal at its most impenetrable with deathly vocals and little concession to faster tempos.

This album has been recorded in different locations between summer 2013 and end of winter 2014. Mixed & mastered in Italy at 322 Studio.

Doom metallers, Aphonic Threnody, will release their new album, When Death Comes, on November 17th via Doomentia Records. This band is formed by members of Urna, Dea Marica, Arcana Coelestia, Gallow God, Locus Mortis, not to mention Kostas of Pantheist, Wijlen Wij, Clouds, etc. Furthermore, the album has contributions from Greg Chandler of Esoteric on guitar, David Unsaved of Ennui/Necropoli on vocals and also Josh Moran of Vacant Eyes on guitar.
