Balance of Power is the eleventh studio album by the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) released in 1986. It is the final album by the band to feature co-founder Bev Bevan on drums, as well as the last album to feature keyboardist Richard Tandy in an official capacity. Balance of Power was the last studio album by the Electric Light Orchestra before their disbanding (the band would later reform in 2000).

After mining the Beatles gold mine for all those catchy hooks, by the time that Balance of Power was released, Jeff Lynne and company had pretty much found that once-rich vein going dry. Balance Of Power biography BALANCE OF POWER was formed in 1995 by keyboardist Ivan Gunn. Ivan had put the band together with other well known London based rock musicians. The band began recording their first album "When the World Falls Down" in October 1996. For the next album Ivan Gunn decided he would no longer be a part of the band, since he no longer had the time and wanted to work in his record company. While promoting their 3rd album, "Ten More Tales of Illusion", Chris Dale left the band, and Tony Ritchie came on board to replace him on bass. Around this time, the band had also struck successful deals with labels to distribute albums in North America and Europe
