6th Borough Project - Borough 2 Borough Their name might nod to New York City, but 6th Borough project are as Scottish as a deep-fried Mars bar. Scotland has long had a taste for the house and disco flavours of New York-consider the Glasgow Underground label, the Subculture nights or The Honeycomb club in Edinburgh, where Craig Smith, one half of 6th Borough Project, was a resident DJ for ten years. Nothing on Borough 2 Borough would sound out of place on their 2011 album, One Night In The Borough. Crisp beats and odd splashes of strings all turn up like clockwork. Granted, this gives subtle shifts, such as the way the bassline kicks into action on "Think It's Over," a power that would be lost amidst more cluttered production.

6th Borough Project are back with the follow up to their 2011 debut One Night In The Borough. A hectic couple of years have been lived out by Graeme Clark and Craig Smith during the making of this LP with Graeme continuing to play week in and week out as Revenge and setting up his new imprint Roar Groove whilst Craig has established the brilliant Fifty Fathoms Deep label. Studio time has been tight to say the least but that hasn’t stopped the duo from pulling out all the stops and ensuring that this LP surpasses the already sky-high benchmark set by it’s predecessor

Two years on from their debut album as 6th Borough Project, One Night in the Borough, Scottish pair Graeme Clark and Craig Smith are back with an impressive and forward-thinking follow-up, Borough 2 Borough. Although both Craig and Graeme (aka The Revenge) have launched their own labels since their first album, like their debut, their second album is released via Delusions of Grandeur. This record feels very much like the evolution of the 6th Borough Project sound.
