Grease: The Original Soundtrack from the Motion Picture is the original motion picture soundtrack for the 1978 film Grease. It was originally released by RSO Records and subsequently re-issued by Polydor Records in 1984 and 1991. It has sold over 38 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling albums of all time, also ranking amongst the biggest selling soundtrack albums of all time.

All songs except "Grease" mixed and re-mixed at Filmways/Wally Heider Recording Studios, Hollywood. Grease" mixed at Criteria Studios, Miami. Mastered at A&M Records.

Grease was a huge success as a Broadway musical prior to hitting the big screen in 1978. The soundtrack rivaled its film counterpart as a pop culture perennial, and it's not hard to see why - its good-natured pastiche of doo wop and early rock & roll is infectious and charming, due in no small part to John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John's charismatic, engaging performances.
