André George Previn, KBE (/ˈprɛvɪn/; born Andreas Ludwig Priwin; April 6, 1929 – February 28, 2019) was a German-American pianist, composer, arranger, and conductor. His career was three-pronged. Starting by arranging and composing Hollywood film scores for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Previn was involved in the music for over 50 films over his entire career. He won four Academy Awards for his film work and ten Grammy Awards for his recordings (and one more for his Lifetime Achievement).

West Side Story is a jazz album by pianist André Previn and his trio. Previn, along with drummer Shelly Manne and bassist Red Mitchell, chose eight compositions from the original score of the Leonard Bernstein musical West Side Story and re-arranged them in a jazz style without vocals. Original music by Leonard Bernstein. Something's Coming" - 2:37. I Feel Pretty" - 6:47. Gee, Officer Krupke!" - 4:55.

Gigi is a 1958 jazz album by André Previn, Shelly Manne and Red Mitchell. The full album name is Modern Jazz Performances of Songs from Gigi. The album was recorded in April 1958. The three musicians were pianist André Previn, bassist Red Mitchell, and drummer Shelly Manne. The material consists of eight songs from the musical Gigi. The Penguin Guide to Jazz described the album in 1992 as having a "dated charm"

Previn's more recent work also shows the influence of Bill Evans. Previn has recorded solo classical piano compositions by Mozart, Gershwin, Poulenc, Shostakovich, an album for RCA Victor with violinist Erick Friedman of the Franck and Debussy violin sonatas, and many chamber works for piano. In 1967, Previn succeeded Sir John Barbirolli as music director of the Houston Symphony Orchestra. In 1968, he began his tenure as principal conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO), serving in that post until 1979

André Previn, Music Department: My Fair Lady. German-American pianist, composer, arranger and conductor André George Previn (born Andreas Ludwig Priwin, in Berlin) was for eight decades a hugely influential and prolific figure in jazz, as well as classical and film music.
