By the time The Wailers released this LP on United Artists in 1966, the British Invasion had rewritten the rock 'n' roll rulebook by which the Pacific Northwest powerhouse had been playing. In contrast to the blazing saxophone instrumentals of their earlier years, this LP relies ever more heavily on vocals and harmonies, and sounds more like The Beau Brummels than frat-rock.

Survival (Bob Marley & The Wailers album). Survival is the eleventh studio album by Bob Marley & The Wailers released in 1979. Survival is an album with an outwardly militant theme. Some critics speculate that this was due in part to criticism Marley received for the laid-back, ganja-soaked atmosphere of his previous release, "Kaya", which seemed to sidetrack the urgency of his message.

The Fabulous Wailers. Mark Marush left The Wailers in 1962 and was replaced by Ron Gardner, who also handled lead vocals; Dangel and Burk left in 1964 and were replaced by guitarist Neil Andersson and drummer Dave Roland respectively. Continuing to perform live as well as recording, the band added a trio of girl backing singers, known as the Marshans Ron Gardner died in 1992. Richard Dangel died of an aneurysm in 2002 Discography.
