Produced by Mike Flicker. Album Dreamboat Annie. Dreamboat Annie Lyrics. Heading out this morning, into the sun Riding on the diamond waves, little darlin' one Warm wind caress her, her lover it seems Oh Annie, dreamboat Annie, little ship of dreams Oh Annie, dreamboat Annie, little ship of dreams. Going down the city sidewalk, alone in the crowd No one knows the lonely one whose head's in the clouds Sad faces painted over with those magazine smiles Heading out to somewhere, won't be back for a while.

Dreamboat Annie" is a song written and recorded by the rock band Heart. It is the title track from their debut album Dreamboat Annie and was released as its third single in 1976. The song had originally appeared as the B-side to Heart's debut single "Crazy on You" earlier that year. There are three different versions of the song "Dreamboat Annie" on the Dreamboat Annie album: Track 2 – "Dreamboat Annie (Fantasy Child)" – 1:10. Track 5 – "Dreamboat Annie" – 2:02.

Listen free to Heart – Dreamboat Annie (Magic Man, Dreamboat Annie (Fantasy Child) and more). Dreamboat Annie is the debut album by American rock band Heart. It was released in the United States on February 14, 1976 through Mushroom Records. It contained three hit singles which became staples on FM radio. Producer Mike Flicker helped the group to polish their sound and obtain a recording contract with the label. Heart's first single How Deep it Goes b/w Here Song (M-7008) received little attention when released in Canada by the small Mushroom label in 1975

The Dreamboat Annie album was the one which stirred up controversy with Heart's label Mushroom Records. After seeing the sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson on the cover of the album, Mushroom Records ran a full-page ad in Rolling Stone with the caption "it was only their first time," in a sexist and tasteless attempt to characterize the sisters as lesbian lovers. More songs from Heart. More songs with girls' names in the title. More songs about traveling. More songs from 1976. Lyrics to Dreamboat Annie.

Heart released Dreamboat Annie in the summer of 1975 in Canada. But on Feb. 14, 1976, the band's debut album hit record store shelves in the . The LP coalesced at the same time the Heart was trying to make a name for themselves by touring around Canada's "cabarets, clubs and grand party dances," as Ann Wilson described it in Jake Brown's book, Heart: In the Studio. That fluidity extended to how Heart committed the songs to tape. They always tracked live in the studio as a band," Flicker recalls. Most of the songs on the album were all done in the studio first, and then live, so they were really morphing as a band during the studio process. Make no mistake, however: The record was completely the vision of sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson.

The resulting album, Dreamboat Annie, was an impressive hard rock debut. Crazy on You," which spotlighted the piercing vocals of singer Ann Wilson and the chunky guitar bluster of her sister Nancy, entered the top 40, and the more mystical "Magic Man" climbed to No. 9. Dreamboat Annie also exposed a more vulnerable side of the band: the title track, for example, was an easy listening, harmony-laden folk song replete with banjo plucks.
