The Grohl Sessions, Vol. 1 is an extended play which was released by the Zac Brown Band on December 10, 2013. Originally released only to digital retailers, it was physically released on May 19, 2014. The physical release includes a 45-minute DVD on the creation of the album. For me the standout is lead track Moving Pictures : This is the perfect tune to put on when the crowd has reached critical mass and it’s time to pick the music up to match. The album invites us into a completely different world. Instead of desolate cities there are luxurious penthouses, gleaming sports cars, the deep blue of the night sky. Just like on previous releases, the track titles serve to articulate the mood and clue us into the story.
