Pantychrist – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas from Riot Grrrl Christmas (Cleopatra, 2015): The band name and album title let you know from the get-go that this isn’t necessarily gonna be all warm fuzzies (shut up, neckbeards and incels-I know what you’re thinkin’). The punk ladies with the apocalyptic underthings sneer through parody lyrics that say Christmas is the perfect suicide excuse and we all will be together/ if the poison works.

Pantychrist formed in 2003 after the chance encounter of four women in a ladies washroom. Upon discovering they all had similar musical aspirations the duo of guitarist Izabelle Steele and vocalist Danyell DeVille joined bassist Amy Hell and drummer Patty Rotten in forming an all female hardcore punk group. A couple of different names were considered before deciding to call the outfit Pantychrist.

Pantychrist is a female hardcore punk rock band from Hamilton, Canada and was formed in 2003 by Danyell DeVille, Izabelle Steele, Amy Hell and Patty Rotten. They have been described as a full throttle blast of estrogen fueled aggression: angry, intense and unrelenting. The group has a growing catalogue of recorded output and have played shows that supported causes such as Rock Against Rape, Breast Cancer Awareness and Inasmuch Women’s Shelter.
