Down Home is an album by American jazz tenor saxophonist Zoot Sims. Billboard magazine called it an "unusual album", in that Sims "applied his improvisational skill to a number of real oldies". Down Beat called it "a marvellous example of Sims' ability to swing".

Tenor saxophonist Zoot Sims recorded on a regular basis as a leader for most of 45 years, and virtually all of his many sessions are worth acquiring. Sims's Bethlehem date also gives one a look at the great pianist Dave McKenna in his early days, along with bassist George Tucker and drummer Dannie Richmond. Sims mostly explores standards from the swing era (including a rare version of "Bill Bailey") on this enjoyable and consistently swinging set. Track Listing.

John Haley "Zoot" Sims (October 29, 1925 - March 23, 1985) was an American jazz saxophonist, playing mainly tenor and soprano. He first gained attention in the "Four Brothers" sax section of Woody Herman's big band, then went on to a long solo career often in partnership with fellow saxman Al Cohn or trombonist Bob Brookmeyer. Famous for never taking a false solo, Sims has lots of space here to showcase his fluid, intensely personal idiom. He doesn't really build his ideas from one chorus to the next, but each chorus has an undeniable symmetry and substance of its own, and you can pretty well hum every one of them. You 'n' Me is a 1960 album by the Zoot Sims and Al Cohn quintet. com gave th. mage: You 'n' Me.
