Larry Eugene Boone (born June 7, 1956) is an American country music artist and songwriter. Between 1985 and 1993, Boone recorded five major label studio albums, in addition to charting several singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles charts. His highest-charting single, "Don't Give Candy to a Stranger", reached No. 10 in 1988.

Debby Boone is a 1979 album by Debby Boone and her third solo studio album for Warner Bros. Unlike Boone's previous two albums, 1977's You Light Up My Life (No. 6 Pop, No. 6 Country) and 1978's Midstream (No. 147 Pop), this album did not reach any Billboard album chart. The album featured two singles, "My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own" (No. 11 Country) and "Breakin' in a Brand New Broken Heart" (No. 25 Country), that charted earlier in 1979 prior to the August 21, 1979 release of this album.

Larry Boone was born in Cooper City, FL, on June 7, 1956. He set off for Nashville in 1981, after financing a stint at Florida Atlantic University with singing gigs in local Florida honky tonks. At first, Music City was unkind to the young singer/songwriter. Boone busked on the city streets, substitute taught, and even worked as a sportswriter before finally landing a songwriting gig with MTM. In 1985, Marie Osmond charted with his song "Until I Fall in Love Again," and the exposure led to more of his songs finding singers. Boone recorded two more lukewarm LPs for Mercury before jumping to Columbia, where his 1993 album, Get in Line, was a minor chart hit. Larry Boone sang around local honky tonks and clubs to finance his way through college and gained a degree in education. In 1981, he moved to Nashville where, while working to establish himself as a songwriter, he busked on Music Row. On some occasions, his educational qualification gained him work as a supply teacher in schools. He joined MTM as a writer and, in 1985, Marie Osmond’s version of his song ‘Until I Fall In Love Again’ charted. By 1987, he had registered only five minor hits (the highest being ‘Roses In December’, a number 44), but the sales had been good enough for Mercury to have a rethink and consequently release an album in 1988. Don’t Give Candy To A Stranger’ (a clever twist, with Candy actually being the little girl involved in the ex-wife’s remarriage), a Top 10 hit in 1988, has so far proved his biggest hit.
