The Staves are an English indie folk trio of sisters Jessica, Camilla and Emily Staveley-Taylor from Watford, Hertfordshire, England. The Staves began performing together at open-mic nights in Watford hosted by a local pub, The Horns. Originally performing as The Staveley-Taylors, the trio later changed their name to The Staves. The group appeared on the Tom Jones album Praise and Blame, released in July 2010. They supported Mt. Desolation on their UK tour in autumn 2010.

It’s a delicate yet ornate ballad in keeping with the sound of their resplendent 2015 career highlight If I Was, with tasteful orchestral flourishes and cascading harmonies bringing the songwriting to life  . This unadulterated vocal unity forms the backbone of the sister trio, The Staves, and has made their debut album full of neo-folk gems, Dead & Born & Grown, one of the year's most exciting releases. Produced by iconic father-son production duo, Glyn and Ethan Johns, The Staves's first full-length album calls to mind the lauded female troubadours of yesteryear, from Joni Mitchell to Carole King. As Emily explains, such was the music the three sisters, including Jessica (guitar) and Camilia (ukulele), grew up on in their family home just outside London.
