CD (deluxe japanese cardboard sleeve with obi and inner card sleeve). Dirk Serries has never shied away from leaps of faith. Three decades ago, he stunned the ambient scene with vidnaObmana and in 2005, he shed the renowned moniker, replacing it with the immersive guitar eruptions of Fear Falls Burning. On MICROPHONICS, he defies superimposed concepts and pseudonyms, he returns with the first material under his own name, at his most personal, vulnerable and dynamic.

Microphonics IV. 12:20. 2. Microphonics III. 11:29. 3. Microphonics II. 9:25. 4. Microphonics V. 15:57. Marketed by Crazy Diamond. Packaging: Deluxe Cardboard sleeve with obi and inner card sleeve.

Talk about Dirk Serries - Microphonics XX

Rolorel
This is a typically high-quality tonefloat release for collectors of Dirk Serries' Microphonics live album series. The box contains Microphonics XX and four additional sleeves, to hold Microphonics VI, VII, XIV, and XIX (along with XX, which comes with the box). The box is large enough to hold the five individual LPs listed on the front, plus the gatefold "Microphonics I-V" and the tour edition "Microphonics XII" 10-inch. So, people with one of each album released to date can store the whole lot in this box if desired. The black paper strip around the box has the title: "dirk serries microphonics live series vi-xx" - and beneath this title are the titles of each individual release in the series, plus basic facts about each release (recording location, dates, color/quantity). The back of the strip lists the equipment Serries used to create the music and a few photographs. Overall a very nice box to contain an excellent body of minimalist, experimental guitar drone work. Kudos to tonefloat and Dirk Serries!
