At first, third album More Faithful seems like another incremental progression or re-polishing of the band's gauze-wrapped approach to pop. Album-opener "Remember Nothing" has the same snare stabs, damaged guitar frequencies, and floating clouds of delay-dripping vocals as early My Bloody Valentine, and "Everything New" revisits the airy Cocteau Twins-styled vocals that first came into focus on Wait to Pleasure

No Joy have announced their new album More Faithful, due out June 9 via Mexican Summer. The 11-track affair was recorded in Brooklyn and Costa Rica and features production from Jorge Elbrecht ( Ariel Pink ’s Haunted Graffiti, Chairlift)

No Joy toured the UK in early 2011, their first stint overseas, with Florida band Surfer Blood, and returned a month later for a European tour including a show in London with Wire and an appearance at Barcelona's Primavera Sound festival On June 15, 2016, No Joy released Drool Sucker on Topshelf Records, the first in a planned series of EPs. It was followed by Creep, released on February 24, 2017 on new label Grey Market.

You see, like any band rooting in noise or gazing at one’s shoe laces, No Joy relies just as much on the feel of an album as it does on the actual noise it creates. More Faithful is a hazy, dream-like listen, but, interestingly, the drums and vocals are the most important parts of what makes the album successful.
